We were under the impression we had to invest in a nice HDMI PVR to do any of the new stuff. As of right now, we can record older games using a Dazzle recorder with the Red/Yellow/White Composite hookups. So I have a couple questions regarding capturing HD consoles, specifically the PS3. I would suggest looking up Proxy Editing for AVS, as the recommended formats may differ from program to program. You may now export your video, and the high quality footage will be used. In this way, you have created your video with high quality content, but have temporarily used low quality footage to avoid heavy strain to your computer.
Do your editing as you would normally.įinally, once all editing is complete and before you export, replace the low quality file in "Import" with the original high quality file from "Proxy". Next you can import the low quality footage. I would suggest two folders, one named "Import" and the other "Proxy", and you keep the original footage in "Proxy" and the lower quality in "Import". DO NOT overwrite the original, and DO NOT keep them in the same folder. Second, create a lower quality copy of that footage, making sure it is the same filetype and has the same filename, and place in the folder where you intend to import from. I know yes, this is a more expensive suggestion, but I will include it because it would probably help and maybe you were thinking about it anyways.įirst, place whatever footage you intend to import and edit into a folder on it's own. Think about upgrading or building a new system. Video editing can take up a lot of system resources (depending on the editor and file sizes), so running multiple programs will only slow it down Make sure nothing else is running on your system while editing.
